Hoosier Hill's Swanly is a fantastic milk producer with a very striking up-hill top line. The will to milk and the ability to sustain it make her one of our favorites of our Alpine dairy herd. (Not to mention her extremely forward personality). This is the only doe we have ever had who could carry 14lbs of milk in her udder and still bound across the barn yard in her best "I'm a wild deer" impersonation. She gets points for being a twelve year old athlete. We have alwyays been impressed with the quality of the doelings Swanly has given us year by year and we presently have three of them in our Alpine dairy herd.
Sunchance Stella is the first of our Swanly progeny to freshen on our farm. She is sired by Strawberry Fields Ranger and has proven this to be an excellent combination of genetics. Stella has a very well attached, well rounded udder with very correct teat placement. She has performed very well on milk test and is growing out with her dam's angularity and flatness of bone. We are retaining Stella's daughter, Crosstimbers HRN Matilda for the Alpine herd.
Crosstimbers SFR Northwind was the 2011 repeat of the Swanly / Ranger breeding with an even more impressive result. Northwind has a very striking appearance that shows up well in the pasture and the show ring. She is all uphill, angular, wide and strong. We love this doe. She is bred to Harmody Raven's Never More for spring 2013 kidding. We certainly have high hopes for this freshening and anticipate these kids will be very special in deed. (See Northwinds page for kid availability)
Crosstimbers SFR Callie is the 2012 repeat of this breeding. Callie is a very strong doeling with all the attributes we like in Swanly with a bit of added length and breadth of stature from Strawberry Fields WRJ Ranger.
